Elusive's Kickstarter and Mika Third Content Patch
March has arrived for our studio like a breath of fresh air, full of positive and renewed energy. Elusive’s Kickstarter campaign has far exceeded its goal, being a success, and the latest free content patch for Mika and the Witch’s Mountain has already arrived on Steam.
2024 was a year of reflection for our studio, as we mentioned in this post about our future as indie game developers, and we had high expectations for this new year.
At the beginning of 2025 we announced our next project after the August 2023 release of Mika and the Witch’s Mountain, Elusive, a game we showed very subtly at the 2022 Chibig Presents along with many other projects we were involved in together with other Spanish studios, such as Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara.
And, coinciding with the arrival of spring, the good news has arrived to our team in this month of March, we’re very motivated!
Elusive’s Kickstarter campaign
Elusive is a project we have been working on since 2020, although more slowly than Mika and the Witch’s Mountain and Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara.
Following the inspiration of The Secret World of Arrietty (Studio Ghibli) and It Takes Two (Hazelight Studios), we have created the fantasy of living adventures being very small in a giant world.
Although the two fundamental aspects of all our projects are the art and the narrative, where we put all our heart and the skills that most stand out from the people who make up our team, we also seek new challenges and explore new things with each new game.
In Elusive we have decided to explore aspects of the metroidvania genre, as well as the combination of 2D and 3D platforming; and also to delve deeper into combat, mechanics that we played with a bit in previous installments, such as Ankora Lost Days.
As with all our previous projects, we have decided to make a Kickstarter campaign for Elusive, where we will get the resources to finish the game and publish it in 2027, and of course involve our beloved community in the process.
Mika and the Witch’s Mountain’s Final Content Update
After the release of Mika and the Witch’s Mountain in August 2024 we have continued to work hard for its release on Xbox and PlayStation, but also to continue developing more free content.
This is the first time we have done this with any of our games and, although it is a demanding process, the result has been very positive and we are very pleased with the outcome, especially with all the support and feedback we have received from Mika players on channels such as Discord and on the Steam forum.
This month we published Into The Mont Gaun on Steam, the third and last free content patch, but also the one that adds more hours of gameplay to the base game. This update unlocks access to 3 dungeons inside the great mountain of the island, each one related to an element: fire, air and water.
These dungeons are a combination of skill and puzzles (and a lot of fun) and inspired by The Legend of Zelda dungeons, with which we will get new cosmetics for the broom, a new outfit for our little witch Mika and a much requested ability: flying upwards.
We are also celebrating that our game has been released in Japan thanks to our publisher Pikii, with a lovely exclusive Asian edition and multilanguage feature, so everyone can enjoy it on their console!
We’re now working hard to fix the bugs reported by our committed community to get this content, and the two previous content patches, onto consoles as soon as possible.
We hope all players around the world will enjoy more of Mika’s adventures on their favorite platform!
